Doctors
Ronald J. Lascoe
Dr. Ronald J. Lascoe received his DMD degree
from the University of Pennsylvania School of
Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He then did a
general practice residency at the Veterans
Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles
where he remained to complete a residency in
periodontics. He was the chief dental resident
and preceded to be the outstanding resident in
1985. For several years he taught at UCLA and
was the head of Periodontics at Rancho Los
Amigos Hospital in Downey.
Dr. Lascoe is a member of the following
associations: American Dental Association,
California Dental Association, American Academy
of Periodontology, and the California Society of
Periodontists. He holds licenses in California
to practice dentistry and for providing
conscious sedation. Dr. Lascoe is married and
has two daughters. He and his family live in the
San Fernando Valley where he grew up. While not
working, Dr. Lascoe enjoys hiking, reading and
being a great dad.

Marc Y. Waki
Dr. Marc Y. Waki has been practicing
periodontics and implant dentistry since 1989.
His focus is on treating periodontally involved
teeth with complete periodontal therapy,
including both surgical and non-surgical
treatment. He utilizes the latest therapeutic
methods including bone regeneration surgery and
a local application of medicines around the gum
tissue. Dr. Waki brought about an alternative to
the replacement of missing teeth with the
surgical placement of dental implants. He is a
graduate of UCLA School of Dentistry where he
received his DDS degree. He had hospital
training from the Palo Alto Veterans
Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Waki is a member of the American Dental
Association and the California Dental
Association as well as the American Academy of
Periodontology and the California Society of
Periodontists. He holds licenses in California
for practicing dentistry and providing conscious
sedation. Dr. Waki resides in Manhattan Beach
with his wife, two sons and daughter. When not
practicing dentistry, he enjoys golfing, skiing,
snowboarding and spending time with his family.
He also is the Committee Chairman of the Cub
Scouts Pack 759 and the Den Leader for his
youngest son.

Taylor M. Hoang
Dr. Hoang attended the University of
California, Irvine on scholarship as a
Regents, Foundation, and University
Scholar and graduated in 1992 with a
Bachelor of Science degree. She belonged
to the Dean's Honor List and the Golden
Key National Honor Society while at UC
Irvine. She attended and received her
DDS degree at UCLA School of Dentistry
in 1996. While there, she received the
American Society for Geriatric Dentistry
Crest Award, UCLA Section of Geriatric
Dentistry Award, and the June and Paul
Ehrlich Geriatric Dentistry Award for
the top graduating senior. She then
moved on to the University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor for her Implant and
Periodontal residency with a Rackham
Graduate Fellowship and an Abigail Marie
Shaw Lawler Scholarship. There, she
learned the latest surgical and
non-surgical techniques including
placement of local antimicrobial
therapy, tissue regeneration,
periodontal plastic surgery, dental
implant placement, and sinus
augmentation. Dr. Hoang earned top
honors including the Sigurd Ramjford
Award for Excellence in Periodontics,
given to the top graduating resident(s). In private practice, Dr. Hoang
proceeded to earn her Diplomate status
and is currently a Diplomate of the
American Board of Periodontology. As a
result, she is board certified. She
belongs to the American Academy of
Periodontology, California Society of
Periodontists, Academy of
Osseointegration (implant association),
American Dental Association, California
Dental Association, and San Fernando
Valley Dental Society. Although
she has lived most of her life in Orange
County where her parents still reside,
she is currently living in the San
Fernando Valley with her husband, son,
and daughter. Their free time is devoted
to raising their children, volunteering
at their children's school programs,
and enjoying the many milestones in
their lives.

Continuing Education
Drs. Lascoe, Waki & Hoang belong to Straumann’s Chairman Club as a result of the
high volume of implants their office places each year. As a result, they are invited to all of Straumann’s special lectures. They also lead the Spear Study Club, which meets once a month with other general dentists and specialists to discuss complex dental cases.

Jenny Azizian (PRC)
Jenny Azizian (PRC) – is
originally a San Francisco
native, yet moved to Southern
California in 2002. Jenny
graduated from CSUN with a
Bachelors in Communication
Studies: Emphasis in Television.
As the Public Relations
Coordinator, Jenny creates and
organizes all events and
seminars. She enjoys marketing
and genuinely loves people. In
the past, Jenny was a Street
Reporter, TV Host and Radio DJ.
She enjoys cooking, listening to
good music and spending time
with great friends and family.

Cathy Meyers (RDH)
Cathy Meyers (RDH) - Cathy
joined the practice in 1987.
With her tremendous amount of
experience, she has earned
herself a strong patient
following. This is also due to
her caring treatment towards her
patients. She knows all her
patients on a first name basis
and she focuses on improving
their oral health and keeping
their teeth healthy for life.
She enjoys traveling,
photography, crocheting and
spending time with the family.
Cathy has always been a strong
and special asset to the
practice.

Rosario Fernandez – (RDH)
Rosario graduated from the
USC Dental program in 1990. She
has been with our practice since
2000. Being able to help
patients understand their
periodontal care is what she
strives for. Building and
maintaining patient
relationships are equally
important to Rosario. She looks
forward to the opportunity of
going back to school to get a
Masters in Public Health. She
also enjoys traveling and
spending time with close family
members and friends. In 2011,
she completed the Avon
Breastcancer Walk. In her spare
time, she also does a vast
amount of community
volunteering. Making a
difference is what means the
most to her.

Anna Kiredzhyan – (RDH)
Anna graduated from the USC
Dental Hygiene program in 2008.
Her training experience and
volunteering assisted
establishments such as The
Children’s Dental Center and
Skid Row. She realized that aid
and guidance towards the
community was necessary.
Dentistry also runs in her
family, being that her brother
and sister-in law are both
dentists. Anna also likes the
interaction with patients and
seeing unexpected and
challenging cases. In the past
she has bungee jumped, skydived,
and traveled to numerous
countries including Armenia,
Russia, Jamaica, Mexico and
Dominican Republic.

Zimra Roz – (RDH)
Zimra grew up in Santa
Monica and graduated from The USC Dental
Program in 2010. Her education was able
to give her a diverse look into dental
hygiene and gave her the ability to
provide for all types and ages. She went
on different rotations and gave dental
aid to organizations at the VA Hospital,
Mission downtown, Children’s Clinics,
and more. She genuinely loves to help
others develop and improve their oral
hygiene and overall health. She may go
back to school one day to obtain her
Masters in Public Health. Her smile is
contagious and she is happily married
with two beautiful children.

Raeceen Ueki – (RDH)
Raeceen graduated from
the University of Hawaii with a
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dental
Hygiene in May of 2010. She always
wanted to be in a field where she helped
people with their health. Raeceen truly
looks forward to the
interactions with the patients
and seeing their improvements
and progress in good oral
hygiene. In the past, she has
traveled to Japan, Washington
D.C. and all along the West
Coast. Her hobbies include all
sorts of outdoor adventures such
as hiking and going to the
beach. Her outgoing personality
is admired by many.

Marla Hughes – (Administrative
Coordinator)
Marla started working here
in 1988. They didn’t even have
computers when she initially
began. Over the years, Marla has
helped nurture the growth of the
practice and its administrative
structure. It has been a
pleasant experience for her. She
also looks forward to assisting
and guiding patients in anyway
she can and considers her staff
colleagues as family. She has 3
children and cherishes time
spent with her family.

Kelly Jung – (Treatment Coordinator)
Kelly has been with the
office since 2006 and has
acquired a large amount of
dental experience since 1990.
Kelly says that the best part
about working in the front is
making herself available to all
patients. She loves helping
people and making sure they are
comfortable. She enjoys cooking
authentic meals and she’s a
pianist at heart. Once she moved
to America, she went to school
and majored in music.

Mari Terteryan – (RDA)
Mari has been with
the practice since 2004 and has been a
registered assistant since 2000. She
plays a vital role in our office. Her
knowledge and support have helped the
doctors and patients immensely. She is
the main surgical assistant to the
office and is in charge of regulating
the OSHA rules (Occupational Safety and
Health Administration). Her main
responsibilities include assisting Dr. Waki
and organizing and ordering the
implants. In her spare time she
enjoys dancing, playing tennis
and being with good friends.

Kia Holden – (RDA)
Kia has been working
with Drs. Lascoe, Waki & Hoang since
2007 and has been in the dental
field since 1995. As Dr. Hoang’s
main assistant, she really
enjoys watching the way Dr.
Hoang provides excellent patient
education and patient care. As a
natural people person, Kia is
fascinated by all cultures she
comes across and accommodates
all her patients. She
appreciates art, knows sign
language and volunteers in the
deaf community.

Cheryl Asher – (RDA)
Cheryl is a Los Angeles
native and has been in the dental field
since 1986. Over the years, Cheryl has
worn many hats in the administrative and
surgical side. She can take on any
position and that is what makes her so
valuable. As the main surgical assistant
to Dr. Lascoe, she appreciates a good
challenge and finds periodontics very
interesting and edgy. Being able to
accommodate patients and Dr. Lascoe is
what she looks forward to
everyday. Her interests include
baking, hiking and reading.

Lucia Choi - (Administrative
Assistant)
Lucia Choi is originally from
Salinas, CA but graduated from
UCLA, where she earned herself a
Bachelors degree in Political
Science. Her passion is Law,
which is why she will eventually
go to Law School so she can
become a Human Rights lawyer.
However, the dental field has
always sparked her interest. Her
most unique experience was
traveling abroad to Uganda,
where her and fellow classmates
contributed in non-profit work
for orphan children. Her hobbies
include playing tennis and the
piano. Her favorite artists are
Beethoven and Mozart. Lucia has
a lovely way about her and we
are happy to have her on our
team.
